Cereals, pulses, oilseeds and products exports reach 929.5 million dollars in January…

According to data shared by the Turkish Exporters Assembly (TİM), the cereals, pulses, oilseeds and products sector, which includes basic food items such as chocolate and cocoa products, sunflower oil, biscuits and wafers, confectionery and pasta and wheat flour, exported 929.5 million dollars in January.

During this period, exports declined by 13.8 per cent in volume terms compared to the same month last year, while a 9.3 per cent decrease was recorded in value terms. Sunflower oil was the most exported product with 88.2 million dollars and there was no decline in this category due to the increase in unit prices. Chocolate and cocoa-based products ranked second with 86.2 million dollars in exports, followed by sweet biscuits and wafers with 76.1 million dollars in exports.

The sector’s number one export market, Iraq, recorded a 34.3 per cent monthly decline in cereal exports, amounting to 108.5 million dollars. The sector continued its growth in the US market, reaching 62.4 million dollars with a 10 per cent increase in this country…
