Celal Kadooğlu: New regulations disrupt exports to Iraq!

Press release…

Celal Kadooğlu, Chair of the Southeastern Anatolia Cereals, Pulses, Oil Seeds and Products Exporters’ Association, announced that new regulations disrupt exports to Iraq…

Celal Kadooğlu, Chair of the Southeastern Anatolia Cereals, Pulses, Oil Seeds and Products Exporters’ Association, stated that exports to Iraq suffered a great blow due to the new regulations made by the Iraqi central government at the customs, and demanded that the ‘72 Hour Rule’ be abolished or at least relaxed.

Pointing out that the new customs regulations in Iraq, which is among the countries to which Türkiye exports the most, have started to negatively affect the exports to this country, Kadooğlu said, “The exports to Iraq have achieved success thanks to the investments that have been going on for years and the strong logistics infrastructure in Northern Iraq, however, some regulations recently put into practice by the Iraqi Central Government seriously complicate the commercial activities of our exporters and negatively affect the effectiveness of our country in this important market.”
