Approximately 60 percent of table olive exports were made to 3 countries from Turkey in the 2019-2020 season.
About 86.3 million dollars of foreign sales out of total 145.7 million dollars of table olives were made to Germany, Romania and Iraq.
Ayhan Bakan, Member of the Board of the Aegean Olive and Olive Oil Exporters’ Association, said, “Germany stood out in the export of table olives because they are expatriates (mostly Turkish workers) living in this country and Iraq and Romania are neighboring countries.”
Turkey, in 2019-2020 season, exported table olives to 123 countries. About 60 percent of exports were made to Germany, Romania and Iraq.
84 thousand tons of olives were exported in 2019-2020 season and 145.7 million dollars obtained in return.
Germany, Romania and Iraq came to the fore in exports.
