TARGET OF MANDARINE EXPORTS IS 400 MILLION DOLLARS…

Aegean Region’s satsuma yield increased by 25 percent…

According to Aegean Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Exporters’ Association’s 2020 Citrus harvest work, the satsuma mandarin harvest across the Aegean Region is foreseen to rise by 25 percent compared to 2019 to 154 thousand 245 tons.

Aegean Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Exporters’ Association Chairman Hayrettin Uçak said that they expect a rise in yield across Turkey and there is enough satsuma madarine for both export and domestic market.

The target in exports is 400 million dollars…

Stating that Turkey’s mandarin export in 2019 was 347 million dollars, while export of satsuma mandarins was 290 million dollars, Hayrettin Uçak added, “In 2019 we exported mandarine from Turkey to 66 countries. Satsuma type mandarin is the most demanded in export. The countries with the highest exports are; Russia with 163 million dollars, Ukraine with 54 million dollars and Iraq with 23 million dollars. Our goal in mandarine exports this year is to reach 400 million dollars.”
