PER CAPITA YEARLY FISH CONSUMPTION RISES IN TURKEY…

Per capita average yearly fish consumption rises to 6.14 kg, official data show…

Turkey’s fishery production dropped 0.3 per cent year-on-year, falling to 628,631 tons in 2018, the country’s statistical authority said Wednesday.

“The total fishery production was composed of sea fish by 35.3 per cent other sea products by 9.9 per cent inland water products by 4.8 per cent and aquaculture products by 50 per cent,” TurkStat said in a statement.

TurkStat data also showed that per capita average fish consumption in Turkey rose 11.8 per cent from the previous year to reach 6.14 kg (13.5 pounds).
