According to a statement by the Eastern Black Sea Exporters’ Association (DKİB); while 188,000 tonnes of hazelnut exports generated 1,600,941,000 dollars in foreign currency revenue during the January–September period of 2025, the export of 153,000 tonnes of hazelnuts from Türkiye during the January–September period of 2026 generated 1,920,687,000 dollars in foreign currency revenue.

When comparing these export figures to the same period of the previous year, there is a 19 percent decrease in volume, whereas the value soared by 20 percent. Exports were made to 116 different countries during the first nine months of the year; the top five destinations were Germany, Italy, France, Poland and the People’s Republic of China, respectively.
In the first month of the hazelnut export season—which began in September—18,755 tonnes of hazelnut exports generated 190 million dollarsin foreign currency revenue. Compared to the same period of the previous year, exports saw a 35 percent spike in volume and a 33 percent spike in value.

Regarding hazelnut exports from the Black Sea province of Trabzon, 52,994 tonnes of exports generated 468,960,000 dollars in foreign currency revenue during the first nine months of 2025; in the first nine months of 2026, hazelnut exports from Trabzon province totalled 40,417 tonnes, generating 613,315,000 dollars in foreign currency revenue. Compared to the same period of the previous year, export volume saw a 24 percent decline, while export value recorded a 31 percent increase. Trabzon province, ranking first in hazelnut exports, accounted for 31.93 percent of the country’s total hazelnut exports during the January–September period.
In the first month of the hazelnut export season, exports from Trabzon amounted to 3,366 tonnes valued at 38 million dollars; this represented a 101 percent increase in volume and a 115 percent increase in value compared to the same period of the previous season…
