One-third of Türkiye’s cereal exports from Southeastern Anatolia…

The cereal sector in the Southeastern Anatolia region, which ranks first nationwide by accounting for 30.9 percent of total cereal exports on its own, saw exports reach 1.8 billion dollars in the first six months.

Exports from the cereals, pulses, oilseeds and processed products sector in the Southeastern Anatolia region rose by 3.6 percent in the first half of the year to reach 1.8 billion dollars.

The cereals sector acted as the driving force behind the region’s exports, accounting for 30.8 percent of the total; the Southeastern Anatolia region also ranked first nationwide, accounting for 30.9 percent of Türkiye’s total cereal exports on its own. Over the six-month period, approximately 608,000 tonnes of pasta, 395,000 tonnes of wheat flour and 240,000 tonnes of sunflower oil were exported.

Exports of sunflower oil, the product generating the highest revenue, soared by 23.1 percent to reach 392.5 million dollars, whilst exports of pasta, which ranked second, soared by 14.5 percent to 328 million dollars. During this period, exports to the Middle East fell by 8.9 percent to 726 million dollars, whilst the African market, where exports totalled 651.2 million dollars, saw a 20.9 percent spike…
