A new chapter has been added to the tasting and promotional events of the ‘Turkish Tastes’ project, which has been run by the Aegean Exporters’ Associations (EIB) for the past six years to boost the awareness and consumption of Turkish food products in the United States.

The Aegean Exporters’ Associations held a tasting event featuring Turkish food products at the National Restaurant Association Show in Chicago. They organised chef competitions at the Turkish Tastes stand. The competing chefs served dishes to visitors using Turkish products. Visitors were captivated by the Turkish flavours.
Muhammet Öztürk, Coordinator Chair of the Aegean Exporters’ Associations, noted that the National Restaurant Association (NRA) Show was organised by the National Restaurant Association, one of the most prestigious institutions in the US food sector. He emphasised that a total of 2,245 companies participated in the fair across the food and food equipment sectors.

Speaking at the launch of the Turkish Tastes Project, Öztürk stated that exports of Turkish food products to the US stood at 750 million dollars, adding, “We have reached the 2 billion dollar mark in exports to the US market. All our food sectors have achieved significant increases in exports to the US. The US imports over 240 billion dollars’ worth of food products annually. As EIB, we are striving to achieve an export volume of 5 billion dollars in food exports to the US.”
