‘The Turkish fresh fruit and vegetable sector attracted great interest in Baghdad’

Gürüz explained that the Mediterranean Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Exporters’ Association, which promotes sustainable, high-quality and rich product diversity from field to table in international markets, has made strong moves to develop lasting partnerships in Iraq, one of the most important markets and to strengthen the country’s quality brand.

Pointing out that they participated as a sector committee in the Baghdad Turkish Export Products Fair held between 30 October and 1 November, he said, “At our joint stand, we conveyed the production power, quality standards and global success in exports of the Turkish fresh fruit and vegetable sector to Iraqi importers, business people and visitors. The intense interest we saw throughout the fair once again demonstrated the high level of confidence in Turkish products in the Iraqi market.”

“During the opening ceremony, we provided information to our Minister of Trade, Mr. Ömer Bolat and the Iraqi Minister of Trade, Mr. Etir Davud Selman El-Greyri, who visited our stand, about the remarkable surge in our sector’s exports to Iraq in recent years. The Baghdad Turkish Export Products Fair served as an extremely productive platform for our sector to develop lasting partnerships in Iraq, strengthen the supply chain and increase the regional recognition of the Turkish fresh fruit and vegetable brand. As Mediterranean Exporters’ Associations (AKİB), we will continue to promote our country’s production power to the world through such organisations,” he added…
