Sevgi Yurt, a food engineer at a company producing local almond sugar in Türkiye’s southeastern Anatolian province of Mardin, told an Anatolian Agency (AA) reporter that they have been producing almond sugar for years.
Yurt explained that almonds, grown traditionally and naturally in the city, are collected and brought to the facility, where they are then sorted individually.
Almond sugar, which is frequently consumed and purchased as a gift by visitors to the city, is also offered by the people of Mardin to their guests…
