OLIVEFRIEND COŞKUN PUBLISHES A BOOK ON SUSTAINABILITY AND BRANDED EXPORT VISION IN OLIVE OIL…

Haldun Coşkun, one of the founding members of the Olive Friends’ Association, which aims to develop the Turkish olive and olive oil sector at national and international levels and bring together sector stakeholders through sustainable production, quality awareness and fair trade, has shared his 21 years of sectoral experience with readers in his book titled ‘I’m Not Crying, Olive Oil Got in My Eye’

The 140-page work, interwoven with memories and experiences, presents an inspiring vision of how Türkiye can achieve global leadership in olives and olive oil through cooperatives, licensed warehousing and branded export strategies.

Haldun Coşkun stated that he sought to produce a work that serves as a guide for the strategic steps Türkiye must take in the olive and olive oil sector over the next 30 years, adding, “In particular, the implementation of cooperative and licensed warehousing systems will ensure price stability in the sector and contribute to mutual gains for producers, consumers and exporters. When there is true unity, Türkiye can become a world leader in olive oil, both in production and branded exports.”

Sharing important information in his book on the health benefits of olive oil, its gastronomic richness, innovation, quality-focused production and sustainability, Haldun Coşkun said, “With approximately 190 million olive trees in our country, our sector has high growth potential at both national and international levels. I believe that realising this potential depends on the production, trade and control of all olive products, from the soil to the table, being carried out in a sustainable, fair and legally compliant manner.”

Haldun Coşkun, founder of Adana-based Çukurova Zeytin A.Ş. (Olive Inc.) and involved in various projects to develop olive cultivation in the Çukurova region and bring high-quality olive oil to consumers in its most natural form, added that he plans to organise book signings and talks to explain the miraculous benefits of olives and olive oil and to help people better understand the value of this fruit…
