Mehmet Ali Işık: Türkiye experienced extreme conditions in seedless raisin exports during the 2024/25 season!

The 2024/25 season for seedless raisins went down in history for Türkiye. While exports reached 153,593 tonnes, the lowest export volume in the last 25 years, export revenues reached 546.5 million dollars, the highest foreign exchange income to date.

Türkiye had earned 489 million dollars in revenue with 207,000 tonnes of exports in the 2023/24 season. While there was a 26 percent drop in volume in the 2024/25 season, revenue rose by 12 percent thanks to a 51 percent spike in export prices in dollar terms.

The season in which the country exported the least amount of seedless raisins in previous years was the 2013/14 season, with 184,940 tonnes. The season with the highest foreign exchange earnings from seedless raisin exports was the 2012/13 season, with 535 million dollars.

Mehmet Ali Işık, Aegean Exporters’ Associations Sustainability and Organic Products Coordinator, stated that Türkiye’s investment in viticulture has enabled it to reach a production capacity of 1.2 million decares of sultana seedless grapes in the Manisa-Denizli-Izmir triangle, achieving significant increases in yield and reaching 330,000 tonnes of seedless raisin production and 250,000 – 260 000 tonnes of export capacity.
