“We are bringing Turkish food products to the world!”

Press release…

Turkish food exporters made a strong showing at the New York Summer Fancy Food Show, one of the world’s largest food fairs, with 92 companies participating. Türkiye aims to export 5 billion dollar worth of food products to the United States, which imports 230 billion dollar worth of food products annually.

The SUMMER FANCY Food Show Fair, which has been organised by the Aegean Exporters’ Associations for 27 years, has joined forces with the Turkish Tastes project, which the Aegean Exporters’ Associations has been running since 2018 to ramp up the market share of Turkish food products in the United States.

Muhammet Öztürk, Chair of the Aegean Cereals, Pulses, Oilseeds and Products Exporters’ Association, stated that Anatolia is one of the world’s oldest agricultural regions, emphasising that Anatolia has nourished civilisations for thousands of years and continues to contribute to global tables with its nutritious and high-quality products.

“With this deep-rooted heritage, we take pride in bringing Türkiye’s flavours to global tables. Through the Turkish Tastes project, which we are continuing with the support of the Ministry of Trade of the Republic of Türkiye, we are bringing Turkish food products to the international gastronomy world,” he said.

Recalling that the cereals, pulses and oilseeds sector is the clear leader in the country’s food exports with 12 billion dollars in exports in 2024, he noted, “The United States is our number one target market in terms of exports in this sector. In 2024, it was the second country to which we exported the most, with 651 million dollars. Over 5 percent of our total exports were to this country. Despite the global challenges, we continue to grow in this market thanks to our innovative approach, reliability, and plant-based, health-focused product portfolio.”

“We also want to emphasise our excitement about building stronger partnerships with our stakeholders in the American retail, food service and gastronomy sectors,” he added…
