Pınar Süt Chairwoman of the Board İdil Yiğitbaşı participated as a speaker in the session titled “Greenhouse Gas Emissions and Solutions for Developing Countries” within the scope of Milk Forum 2021 organized by IFCN Dairy Research Network (International Dairy Research Information Network).
Emphasizing the importance of young farmers for Sustainable Agriculture, Pınar Süt Chairwoman of the Board İdil Yiğitbaşı said, “Milk production is adversely affected by the climate crisis. Increasing milk yield per cow is the most important tool to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. While milk production in Turkey has reached 3,158 kg from 500 kilograms per animal per year since the 1970s; It is seen that milk production in Turkey is still behind Europe.”
“In order to raise productivity in milk and enhance the awareness of dairy farmers; it is important to diversify training activities and strengthen technical equipment with the use of technology.” Yiğitbaşı added…
