Huge step for Food Safety…
“We Know the Pesticides We Use” project…
Pesticide analysis will be made in 9 products.
Healthy food consumption and “Food Safety”, which is the key to this, are among the rising values across the world in recent years.
Aegean Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Exporters’ Association (EYMSİB) will implement the project named “We Know the Pesticides We Use” in 2021 so as to draw attention to “Food Safety”.
Underlining that Turkey has a rich diversity in terms of climate, soil and agricultural production because of its location, Aegean Fresh Fruits and Vegetables Exporters’ Association Chairman Hayrettin Uçak said, “Producers apply an integrated pest control programme in order to eliminate diseases and pests that negatively affects the quality of products during the growing process.”
“We, as the Aegean Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Exporters’ Association, will start a field work of the ‘We Know the Pesticides We Use” project, which we think will help provide reliable food, in March 2021,” Uçak noted.
Food Safety awareness is increasing every day…
Stating that all countries across the world, especially the European Union countries, are getting more and more conscious about ‘Food Safety’, Uçak continued his words as follows; “This project is about the analysis of pesticides for seedless table grapes, cherries, pomegranates, peaches, tangerines, strawberries, tomatoes, cucumbers and vine leaves which have high export volumes.”
Emphasizing that the “We Know the Pesticides We Use” project will be implemented for the first time, Hayrettin Uçak added, “In the next period, we will have data on pesticides in the negotiations we will hold on various platforms.”
