Minister of Agriculture and Forestry İbrahim Yumaklı stated that 97 out of every 100 units of seeds used are produced in Türkiye.

Yumaklı, who put the last point on the seed discussions brought to the agenda again after all foreign trade with Israel was cut, explained, “We are not affected in any way in terms of agricultural products. There is a metaphor over seeds. We had a lot of exports of fresh vegetables and fruits to Israel. We may not export to them, but we sell elsewhere. Or we can adjust it a little more favourably inside. There are topics that we update every month, especially regarding the known falsehoods. Seed is one of them. No country in the world is 100 percent self-sufficient. However, 97 out of every 100 units of seeds we use are produced in our country. We have 1.3 million tonnes of production.”
