“We are trying to boost our share in organics”

Thirty-seven companies from Türkiye exhibited their products within the scope of green agriculture and competitive price vision at the Nuremberg Organic Food Fair (BioFach), which is described as “the world’s largest organic food fair”.

The Turkish organic sector showed suppliers from all over the world that it is the world’s organic food warehouse.

Pagmat Food Sales Manager Nergiz Karadağ said that as a 45-year old company, they mainly do grape business in the dried fruit sector, but they also produce other dried fruits.

Stating that they had the opportunity to meet with active customers at the fair and increased their potential customer portfolio, Karadağ said, “We are already a 90 percent exporting company. We are trying to ramp up our share in organics.”

Işık Agriculture (Tarım) Sales Manager Can Erim noted that they came to the fair to reach new customers, purchasing groups and supermarket chains and said that the event met their expectations.

Emphasizing that the importance of organic and healthy nutrition is becoming more and more visible, Erim explained, “People want to eat healthier and I think the prices have become more reasonable. Organic will continue to increase. Both the farmer and producer phase of this is getting better. I expect the trend to continue to surge.”

Leyla Aydın Yüksel, Deputy General Manager in charge of Sales at Tunay Food (Gıda), said that as a company, they care about sustainability, people and human health and added, “Our focus is on organic products. This fair is one of the biggest organic fairs in the world. In fact, it is the biggest one, which is why we are here.”

On the other hand, Tunay Food (Gıda) General Manager Gonca Kırtıloğlu Demir indicated that they attach importance to sustainable agriculture and the protection of natural resources, which is why they participated in the fair.

“We are currently carrying out organic agriculture on 20 thousand decares with around 450 – 500 producers and in compliance with the principles of sustainability,” Demir concluded…
