USA ranks first in non-wood forest products in both the Aegean region and Türkiye…
Nurettin Tarakçıoğlu, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Aegean Furniture, Paper and Forestry Products Exporters’ Association, said: “If we look at non-wood forest products, the US ranks first both in the Aegean and in Türkiye in terms of exports of our products such as oregano, laurel leaves, sage tea, which dominate the world, and is our most important market. These products are among our traditional products that have been grown in our countries for a very long time and have become the symbol of our country”.
“When we look at the 2023 values in the USA, we see that Türkiye is in first place with 25 percent. Considering these two valueable crops, oregano and laurel, which are the most exported products from the Aegean region, we see that 14.3 million dollars of exports were made to the USA in these product groups in the last 1 year and 88 percent of this, corresponding to 12.5 million dollars, was realised from the Aegean region,” Tarakçıoğlu added…
