TURKSTAT; milk and chicken meat production decreases in February

According to TURKSTAT data, drinking milk production decreased by 13.2 per cent on a monthly basis in February. Chicken meat production decreased by 0.7 per cent in February, while chicken egg production also decreased by 5.7 per cent.

TÜIK ANNOUNCED FEBRUARY PRODUCTION DATA…

According to TURKSTAT data, the amount of cow’s milk collected by commercial dairies soared by 13.1 percent in February compared to the same month of the previous year, and soared by 8.7 percent in January-February period compared to the same period of the previous year.

In February, cow cheese production increased by 10.6 percent, buttermilk production increased by 28.3 percent, yoghurt production increased by 16.6 percent, drinking milk production increased by 0.5 percent, butter production increased by 20.1 percent compared to the same month of the previous year.

MILK PRODUCTION DECREASED IN FEBRUARY…

In January-February period compared to the same period of the previous year, cow cheese production surged by 11.5 percent, buttermilk production surged by 20.1 percent, yoghurt production surged by 12.7 percent, drinking milk production surged by 3.3 percent and butter production surged by 20.0 percent.

The amount of cow milk collected by commercial dairies, which was 915 thousand 522 tonnes in the previous month, decreased by 2.0 percent in February and became 897 thousand 379 tonnes.

Drinking milk production, which was 153 thousand 796 tonnes in the previous month, decreased by 13.2 percent in February and became 133 thousand 505 tonnes.

CHICKEN MEAT AND EGG PRODUCTION DECREASED MONTH-ON-MONTH…

In February, compared to the same month of the previous year, chicken egg production rose by 7.3 percent, the number of slaughtered chickens rose by 13.1 percent, chicken meat production rose by 14.6 percent, turkey meat production also rose by 31.2 percent.

In January-February period compared to the same period of the previous year, chicken egg production increased by 6.8 percent, the number of slaughtered chickens increased by 9.4 percent, chicken meat production increased by 10.1 percent, turkey meat production increased by 32.2 percent.

Chicken meat production, which was 203 thousand 64 tonnes in the previous month, decreased by 0.7 percent in February and became 201 thousand 680 tonnes.

Chicken egg production, which was 1 billion 838 million 422 thousand in the previous month, decreased by 5.7 percent in February and became 1 billion 733 million 464 thousand…
