Türkiye’s only cheese museum hosted thousands of visitors!
Located in Kars, a northwestern province of Türkiye and registered as the “18th Cheese Route of the World”, the ‘Cheese Museum’ hosted approximately 40 thousand local and foreign tourists in 8 months.
Museum Director Yeşim Koç said that 40 thousand people have visited the museum since its opening and said, “Our Cheese Museum is a very special place, it is the only museum in the country and the largest in the world in terms of area. Spread over an area of approximately 1,100 square metres, it covers 5 thousand square metres with the event area.”
What sections are in the museum?
Pointing out that the place that most impresses the visitors in the Cheese Museum is the barn section, Museum Director Koç added, “Our Cheese Museum has a very special and historically important place. We have a flora section that he bought.”
“Our barn section is very impressive, especially our guests are very impressed from that section, we have a huge section where the production of Gruyere cheese is explained from beginning to end. With the presence of over 30 cheeses in Kars, it shows how different and how diverse the culture here is,” she concluded.
