National Milk Council (USK) Research and Advisory Board Member Professor Dr. Nevzat Artık stated that the Raw Milk Action Plan carried out by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry will boost the share of dairy exports.
“Contribution to the export target of 500 billion dollars”
Pointing out that the quality of raw milk is related to healthy animals and rapid cooling, Dr. Artık said that Türkiye’s exports in this field will be doubled by fulfilling the necessary conditions in milk.
Emphasizing that milk should be cooled quickly after it is taken from the animal, Dr. Artık added, “If the milk is not cooled, the number of microorganisms in the milk increases and causes deterioration. We say ‘the milk has curdled’ among the people. This is due to the high number of microorganisms. Milk should be cooled and processed quickly after milking. The quality of raw milk is related to the cooling of milk, this should be done throughout Türkiye and attention should be paid to hygiene in milking. When we do this, our products will be sold more in the world and the income of our farmers and exports of our country will increase.”
“Our country has an export target of 500 billion dollars for the coming years. We can support this general target by hiking the export of dairy products,” Dr. Artık concluded…
