The positive course of the political relations between Turkiye and the United Arab Emirates is also reflected in the export figures. Turkiye realized an export of 3 billion 121 million dollars with an increase of 66 percent in 2021 to the UAE, to which it exported 1 billion 879 million dollars in 2020.
Sharing the information that Turkiye’s exports to the United Arab Emirates continue to grow in 2022, Turkish Exporters’ Assembly (TİM) Board Member and Aegean Olive and Olive Oil Exporters’ Association (EZZİB) Chairperson Davut Er said, “Our exports to the UAE soared by 11 percent in January and reached 192 million dollars. In the same period, the export of Aegean Exporters’ Associations (EİB) rose by 40 percent from 12.8 million to 18 million dollars. Turkiye’s export target to the UAE is to reach 4 billion dollars by 2022.”
Er also stated that more than 150 companies from Turkiye participated in the Gulfood Dubai Fair, one of the largest food fairs in the world, which was held at Dubai World Trade Center between 13-17 February, simultaneously with Expo Dubai and introduced Turkish flavours.
