Exports of fruit and vegetable products from the Aegean Region exceeded 1 billion dollars annually…
Aegean Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Exporters’ Association (EYMSİB), which is the leader of Türkiye’s fruit and vegetable products exports, is happy to exceed 1 billion dollars in fruit and vegetable products exports in the last 1-year period. The sector aims to ramp up its exports, which are currently at the level of 2.5 billion dollars, to 5 billion dollars by the end of 2028.
Aegean Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Exporters’ Association, which left 2023, the 100th anniversary of the Turkish Republic, behind with export records, made a bright entrance to 2024. In the first 23 days of 2024, EYMSİB, which boosted its exports of fruit and vegetable products from 50 million dollars to 68.6 million dollars with an increase of 37 percent, exported 1 billion 168 thousand dollars of fruit and vegetable products in the last 1 year.
After fishery exports, the fruit and vegetable products sector also surpassed 1 billion dollars…
Aegean Fisheries and Animal Products Exporters’ Association was the only food sector within the Aegean Exporters’ Associations (EIB) to surpass the 1 billion dollar threshold with 1 billion 127 million dollars of exports in 2023. The fruit and vegetable products sector managed to become the second food sector under the roof of EIB to exceed the 1 billion dollar threshold.
43 percent of the country’s fruit and vegetable products exports come from the Aegean region…
Hayrettin Uçak, Chairman of the Aegean Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Exporters’ Association, stated that they have 43 percent of the country’s exports in the fruit and vegetable products sector and said, “We have many modern fruit and vegetable products facilities at world standards that process delicious fruits and vegetables grown in 7 geographical regions of Türkiye and transform them into value-added products and that there is an ecosystem where the country’s exports in the fruit and vegetable products sector will grow rapidly.”
Pointing out that the total exports of the fresh fruit and vegetable and fruit and vegetable products sectors have reached 6 billion dollars, Uçak added, “Our fresh fruit and vegetable and fruit and vegetable products sectors equip the tables all over the world with a wide range of products. Fruit juices, tomato paste, pickles, dried tomatoes, fruit preserves, sauces, alcoholic beverages, healthy snacks, ready-to-eat foods, frozen fruits and vegetables are our prominent export products in the fruit and vegetable products sector. Our fruit and vegetable products sector undertakes a mission that increases our export income by adding added value to our products.”
