Türkiye exported 2,200 types of agricultural products to 212 countries and regions last year, generating 26.5 billion dollars in export revenues, Agriculture and Forestry Minister İbrahim Yumaklı said.
In his assessment, Yumaklı said that the development of the cereals, pulses and oilseed crops sector, which they see as the guarantee of the country’s food supply security, is valuable and strategic.
Pointing out that crop production reached 137 million tonnes last year, which is a record in the history of the Republic, Minister İbrahim Yumaklı continued as follows:
“Contract production is one of the main elements in the planning of agricultural production. Contracted production is the only way for us to act as a whole, including both production and industry.”
Yumaklı added that Türkiye exported 2 thousand 200 kinds of agricultural products to 212 countries and regions last year and obtained an export income of approximately 27 billion dollars…
