The Association of Ecological Agriculture Organization (ETO), which is among the leading organizations of organic agriculture in the world, celebrated its 30th anniversary as a hybrid in Aegean Exporters’ Associations (EIB). All stakeholders of organic agriculture came together at the 30th anniversary celebration of ETO.
EIB Organic Products and Sustainability Coordinator, Chair of Aegean Dried Fruits and Products Exporters’ Association, Mehmet Ali Işık, who is among the founders of Ecological Agriculture Organization Association, as well as EIB Organic Products and Sustainability Coordinator, who went down in history as the first name to be elected as the Chairman of the Board of Directors from the organic sector in the 83-year history of exporters’ associations in Türkiye and Başak Egesel, Head of Good Agricultural Practices and Organic Agriculture Department of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, made the opening speeches of the event.
Chairwoman of the Association of Ecological Agriculture Organization Professor Dr. Uygun Aksoy, on the other hand, made a presentation on ETO’s 30-year history along with national and international projects.
Past and current ETO Chairpersons, Founding Members and Board of Directors, ETO members, representatives from Provincial/District Directorates of Agriculture and District Municipalities, NGOs, universities, organic agriculture producers and exporters also attended the meeting.
Another important year of 2022 is that it is the 50th anniversary of IFOAM’s (Organics International) establishment and 2022 is declared as the Year of Organic Agriculture. At the same time, the European Union has declared 23 September as the “Organic Day” in 2022 too…
