TURKEY, A PIONEER IN TRANS FAT-FREE PRODUCTION!

Turkey has taken its place among the best examples in the world with an arrangement made by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, in terms of limiting trans fats by the rate of 2 percent which considered safe by the of 2020.

With the regulation made by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, as of December 31, 2020, the rate of trans fat has been limited to 2 percent, which is considered safe worldwide.

Stating that the legal regulation in the European Union (EU) will come into force in April 2021, Culinary Products and Margarine Industrialists Association (MÜMSAD) General Coordinator and Food Engineer Ebru Akdağ said, “The transition to this practice 3 months before the European Union is the joint success of both our Ministry, which has made the legal regulation and the industry that has prepared the infrastructure before.”
