TRABZON PROVINCE, THE LEADER OF EXPORT FROM THE BLACK SEA REGION TO RUSSIA…

In the 8-month period covering January-August 2021, exports from Trabzon region to the Russian Federation reached 115,551,947 dollars, soaring by 31 percent compared to the same period of the previous year.

In the same period, exports from the Black Sea Region, where 18 provinces are located, to the Russian Federation amounted to 218,908,833 dollars in total, resulting in a 100 percent rise in exports.

Trabzon ranks first in the ranking of the provinces that carry out the most exports from the Black Sea Region to the Russian Federation, while Samsun is in the second place and Rize is in the third place.

Saffet Kalyoncu, Chairperson of the Board of the Eastern Black Sea Exporters’ Association (DKİB), who made statements on the subject, said, “There was a high rate of increase in the exports made from Trabzon to the Russian Federation in the first 8 months of 2021, compared to the same period of the previous year. So most exports from the Black Sea Region provinces to the Russian Federation were made from the province of Trabzon.”

“The most exported product from Trabzon to the Russian Federation is fresh fruit and vegetable products, followed by fish exports, whose exports are increasing rapidly. A total of 23 sectors exported to the Russian Federation and that more than half (53 percent of the exports from the Black Sea Region to the Russian Federation) were carried out by the province of Trabzon alone,” Kalyoncu added.

“Furthermore Rize province also increased its exports rapidly, making it the province with the highest Trout export from our country to the Russian Federation in 2021 and that Trout exports from Rize province to the Russian Federation amounted to 30 million 88 thousand dollars with a rise of 96 percent in this period,” Kalyoncu concluded…
