In the 9 months of the year, 552 million 806 thousand dollars worth of hazelnuts were exported from Trabzon province.
According to Eastern Black Sea Exporters’ Association (DKİB) data, in the January-September period, 208 thousand 817 tonnes of hazelnuts were exported from Turkey, 1 billion 448 million 555 thousand dollars obtained in return.
During this period, companies based in Trabzon province, provided 552 million 806 thousand dollars foreign currency inflow in return for 78 thousand 746 tonnes of hazelnut exports. Thus, Trabzon realized 38 percent of total hazelnut exports in terms of revenue.
During this period, the number of countries that exported hazelnuts from Trabzon was 58. The countries with the highest number of exported hazelnuts were listed as Italy, Germany and Canada.
During this period, hazelnuts worth 155 million 300 thousand dollars to Italy, 94 million 420 thousand dollars to Germany and 44 million 938 thousand dollars to Canada were exported.
Exports were made to Azerbaijan-Nakhchivan, Dubai and Kenya, which were not exported from the province in the same period of the previous year.
