Promotion attack from the aquaculture and animal products sector…

The Turkish fishery and animal products sector, which exceeded its 2023 export target of 3.5 billion dollars in February 2022 and increased its exports by 33 percent to 4 billion 56 million dollars in the last one-year period, strengthens its export bridges with the Americas, North Africa and Southeast Asia.

Aegean Fisheries and Animal Products Exporters’ Association participated in Americas Food & Beverage Show Fair in Miami, USA on 12-13 September, 5th International SIEMA Fair in Casablanca, Morocco on 13-15 September, Singapore on 14-16 September. also participated in The Seafood Marketplace for ASIA Fair.

New partnerships with Singapore will be the key to opening a new door in many countries from Asia Pacific to Far East…

“Singapore is one of the first places that comes to mind when it comes to re-export centre in the world. It realizes half of its exports by re-export. ASEAN is a member of the RCEP, the Comprehensive and Innovative Trans-Pacific Partnership Agreement (CPTPP). Therefore, new partnerships with Singapore will be the key to opening a new door in many countries from Asia Pacific to the Far East.”

“This year, the fair opened its doors to more than 8 thousand visitors with approximately 250 companies from 40 countries. As Turkish companies, we also participated in the business matchmaking programme, where all buyers at the fair made an appointment with each other. Our Singapore Commercial Counselor Mihriban Esin Arslan and our Singapore Ambassador Mehmet Burçin Gönenli visited our stands. In 2021, Turkey’s food exports to Singapore amounted to 23 million dollars with an acceleration of 15 percent. In the January-August period of 2022, our exports of aquatic products and animal products to Singapore reached 10.8 million dollars with a record hike of 958 percent,” Kızıltan explained.

Animal products

“Dairy products account for 9.8 million dollars of our exports. The aquaculture and animal products sector is a sector in which Türkiye is highly strong. Türkiye, in addition, is a country with very modern production technology in aquatic products, poultry products and dairy products. Therefore we have the infrastructure to export worth 50 million dollars to Singapore,” Kızıltan added…
