SEEDLESS SULTANA GRAPES READY TO EXPORT!

This year’s export journey of seedless table grape, which has a 73 percent share of Turkey’s table grape exports, begins on Friday, August 6, 2021. The export date of Mevlana (Razaki) table grapes is set for Thursday, August 12, 2021.

While Turkey’s export of fresh grapes was 150 million dollars in 2020, the export of seedless table Sultana grape, which belongs to Anatolia as the homeland, used to be preferred by the Ottoman Sultans, reached 110 million 734 thousand dollars in 2020 with an increase of 19 percent. Foreign exchange income from Mevlana grapes was recorded as 1.5 million dollars.

Stating that producers did not neglect the maintenance of their vineyards during the pandemic period and that they produced seedless table grapes, the Aegean Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Exporters’ Association Chairperson Hayrettin Uçak said, “Turkish exporters, by exporting 110.7 million dollars, ensured that the producers were rewarded for their efforts.”

Export target is 125 million dollars…

Informing that 55 thousand farmers produce seedless Sultana grapes in vineyards exceeding 1 million decares in the provinces of Manisa-İzmir-Denizli triangle, Uçak explained, “Grapes strengthen the immune system. I invite all our citizens to consume table grapes during the pandemic period. We especially recommend putting fresh grapes in the lunchboxes of our children who will go to school until the end of the season and seedless raisins after the season is over.”

“We aim to generate 125 million dollars of foreign exchange in exports,” Uçak added…
