According the data compiled from Eastern Black Sea Exporters Association (DKİB), in first five months of the year 314 thousand 66 tons of fresh fruits and vegetables have been exported to Russia. 229 million 868 thousand 717 dollars of revenue was obtained.
Tomatoes took the first place in the exports in the mentioned period. Russia in this period were sold 68 thousand 414 tons of tomatoes from Turkey, in exchange for 62 million 465 thousand 273 dollars.
In the same period last year, Turkey exported to Russia 24 thousand 310 tons of tomatoes and 20 million 801 thousand 867 dollars had been won. So tomato exports to Russia from Turkey, rose by 181 percent compared to the same period last year, while the value has increased by 200 percent.
15 thousand 224 tons of tomatoes from Trabzon to Russia in January-May of the year by selling 13 million 854 thousand 750 dollars revenue was obtained. 4 thousand 263 tons of tomatoes were exported to Russia in the same period last year from this city, 3 million 479 thousand 200 dollars were provided income. Thus, compared to the same period last year, exports of tomatoes to Russia from Trabzon increased by 257 percent and 298 percent in value.
