REPRESENTATION OF WOMEN AND YOUNG ENTREPRENEURS IN EXPORTS TO INCREASE!

Representation of women and youth in exports will increase…

Aegean Exporters’ Associations, in cooperation with EMCC (European Mentoring & Coaching Council) and Binyaprak, launched the EİB Export-Up Mentorship Programme for women and young entrepreneurs who are new to export and want to take a step into export.

Jak Eskinazi, Aegean Exporters’ Associations Coordinator Chairperson, said that within the scope of the programme, women and young entrepreneurs can come together with the members of the EİB Board of Directors and get support to achieve their personal and business goals.

Stating that this common mind system, which they have created through practices such as regular trainings and mentoring, Eskinazi noted, “This is one of the most important components that will enable our human resources to lead the transformation. In 2020, we established the Young Exporters Council (GİK) in order for young people and women to focus on exports and carry out studies. Almost half of the GİK is made up of our women exporters. We want this ratio of representation to be spread to the general.”

“The biggest representation in Turkish Exporters’ Assembly (TİM) Women’s Council belongs to our Aegean women exporters. One of every 3 exporters consists of our Aegean women exporters. The EİB Export-Up Mentorship Programme, which will increase the export potential of the Aegean Region, has been designed to support and mobilize the experience of exporters in our region, women and young entrepreneurs who are new to their international journeys,” Eskinazi added.

“Within the scope of the project, we aimed to support the company and factories to better plan their own career development, including a field visit and to create a programme where mentors would also learn by teaching. Beneficiary (mentee) – mentor matching will be made by taking into account expectations and resumes (CV) in the 6-month programme. Interviews, which are targeted an average of 6 times a month, can be face-to-face or can be held electronically,” Eskinazi concluded…
