Poyraz Olive Oils, one of the first brands that come to mind in olive oil in the Aegean Region, entered the top 10 in its sector according to the export figures of 2020 announced by the Aegean Exporters’ Association (EİB).
Poyraz Olive Oils General Manager Soykan Yanya received the award at the ceremony held after the “Climate Change and Sustainable Agriculture: Future of Olives Workshop” organized by the Ministry of Agriculture, Turkish Exporters’ Assembly (TİM) and EİB.
Poyraz Olive Oils, which was established in 2006 by Selami Özpoyraz, who is also the Chair of the Izmir Chamber of Commerce Assembly, has become one of the leading companies in the sector with its ever-increasing production capacity and export figures.
Pointing out that they are among the top 10 among 500 olive oil companies in the 2020 export figures announced by the EİB, Yanya said, “In this process, where our economy is going through a difficult period, the importance of exports has increased even more. We continue to work with an understanding that believes in value-added production and with the target of export.”
“Value added production is important”
Poyraz Olive Oils Export Manager Gamze Karabulut underlined that they will continue to grow in the sector with an export focus. Emphasizing that value-added production has become more valuable than ever, Karabulut added, “Today, we see that the way to increase our export figure per kilogram is through value-added production. For this, branded and packaged exports are more important than ever.”
