“OUR TARGET IS THE GLOBAL MARKET IN BURSA BLACK FIG”

Professor Dr. Senih Yazgan, Vice Chair of Uludağ Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Exporters’ Association (UYMSİB) said that Bursa Black Fig, which is identified with the city, is a special and important crop that has no rival in the world market and has no limit in its exports.

Dr. Yazgan said, “Bursa Black Fig, which is consumed with great admiration abroad with its taste, shelf life and quality has entered into the kitchen of the British Royal family. We continue to work at full speed to further promote and market it at affordable costs.”

“In this regard, Uludağ Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Exporters’ Association (UYMSİB), supported by the Ministry of Commerce, carried out the third training program for producer companies within the scope of the UR-Ge (Product Development) Project. Representatives of 12 companies from the Ur-Ge cluster attended the training titled ‘Increasing the Awareness of Bursa Black Fig in Various Geographies'”.

“Promotion and marketing of the product should be improved”

Indicating that the production, promotion and marketing of such an important product needs to be further improved, Dr. Yazgan noted, “Bursa Black Fig is very important to us. Bursa Black Fig is a special and important product that has no rival in the world market identified with the region and has no limit in its exports. Sometimes we have turned the crop into a product that competes with ourselves, due to the mistakes we made within ourselves in production. That’s why the Ur-Ge project is a very important work for this crop.”

“We think that the recognition of such a valuable product, which is unrivaled, in international markets and then offering it to consumers in terms of marketing at affordable costs will make a great contribution to the country’s agriculture,” Dr. Yazgan added…
