ORGANIC AGRICULTURE HAS INCREASED BY 46 PERCENT AMONG EU COUNTRIES…

While organic agriculture has become very popular in recent years, it has been ascertained that organic agriculture has increased by 46 percent since 2012 among European countries.

According to the information obtained by the media monitoring agency, Ajans Press, from Eurostat data, organic agriculture statistics in EU countries have been announced. As a result of the data, it was determined that organic agriculture has increased by 46 percent since 2012.

Thus, it was recorded that the total organic area in 2019 was 13.8 million hectares. The country with the largest organic share among the EU countries was recorded as Austria and it was identified that it corresponds to 25.3 percent of the total agricultural area. Other countries with the highest share in organic agriculture were Estonia (22.3), Sweden (20.4), Czechia and Italy (15.2).

In Turkey, it was observed that organic agriculture was 1.4 percent. Ajans Press examined the number of news related to agriculture reflected in the press. According to the information compiled by the Ajans Press from the press archive, it was determined that 236,108 news related to agriculture were reflected in the press in 2020.

When only organic agriculture is considered, it was observed that 3 thousand 766 news appeared. Agricultural support credit news, the situation of the farmer and the price gap between the field and the market were the news most talked about.
