According to data compiled by an Anadolu Agency (AA) correspondent from the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, while efforts to boost organic agriculture are ongoing, organic farmers have been supported since 2005 to boost production, improve and expand marketing capabilities and preserve the ecological balance. In this context, 100.9 million lira in support payments were made in 2025, including 3.1 million lira for organic beekeeping.

In addition to these supports, additional support will be provided to farmers who are members of first-degree agricultural organizations engaged in organic farming for the 2026 production year.

The contribution of these supports to production is also reflected in the data. In this context, organic crop production, which was 310,125 tonnes in 2002, increased by 320 percent to 1,301,248 tonnes in 2024. During this period, the number of producers increased by 193 percent, from 12,428 to 36,412 and the production area increased by 169 percent, from 89,827 hectares to 241,490 hectares. Product variety also increased by 79 percent, from 150 to 268.
The number of organically produced animals increased from 1,953 cattle, 10,066 sheep and 890 poultry in 2005 to 9,289, 4,088 and 541,661 in 2024.
In 2005, the number of organic beekeepers was 370, while the number of hives reached 50,486 and the amount of product produced was 573 tonnes. In 2024, these figures reached 596, 88,645 and 861 tonnes, respectively.
