Children in Tire, Beydağ, Çeşme, Karaburun and Kiraz districts will also benefit by İzmir Metropolitan Municipality’s ‘Nursing Baby’ project from now on.
Thus, there will be no district in Izmir province where the project is not implemented.
İzmir Metropolitan Municipality continues to deliver the healthy milk it gets from the producer cooperatives to the children living in the city.
Following the milk purchase agreement made by Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Tunç Soyer with cooperatives on July 1, at first stage, within the scope of the ‘Nursing Baby’ project, which included Ödemiş, Bayındır, Selçuk, Bergama, Dikili and Kiraz, now it has been decided to expand this project into Tire, Beydağ, Çeşme, Karaburun and Kiraz districts.
Milk for 160 thousand children…
Following the inclusion of these districts in the milk distribution network within the scope of the project, which benefits children between 1 and 5 years of age, the demands started to be collected. Milk distributions are planned for the coming weeks.
Therefore, the ‘Nursing Baby’ project, which was previously implemented in 11 central districts, hereafter will reach all 30 districts.
Within the scope of the Milk Lamb project, 160 thousand children will be handed out 8 litres of milk per month. Thanks to the project, a total of 427 thousand 512 children have been reached so far.
