Stating that the most important agenda of the fresh fruit and vegetable sector is market diversity, Nejdat Sin, Chairperson of the Mediterranean Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Exporters’ Association, said that efforts in this direction were reflected in the August reports. Evaluating Turkey’s fresh fruit and vegetable exports in August according to countries, Nejdat Sin said, “In the Russian market, we reached an export value of 41.5 million dollars with a rise of 5 percent. Germany took the second place with an increase of 24 percent and a value of 20 million dollars and Syria took the third place with an increase of 162 percent and a value of 10.1 million dollars.”
“In the countries where we achieved the highest increase in export volume in August, Greece became the top of the list with a rise of 724 percent and a value of 1.5 million dollars. Libya was in second place with an increase of 536 percent and a value of 1.8 million dollars, while Israel ranked third with an increase of 306 percent and a value of 5.4 million dollars,” Nejdat Sin added.
“The significant increases we have achieved in Germany, Croatia, Bulgaria and Switzerland, as well as Greece, one of our target markets in Europe, also increased our motivation,” Nejdat Sin concluded…
