Türkiye meets the world’s cat and dog food needs…

The target in the export of cat-dog food is 100 million dollars…

The increase in people’s desire to live with pets around the world brings about the growth of Türkiye’s cat-dog food exports every year.

Turkish cat-dog food manufacturers are ramping up their volume in exports, as they meet the food needs of our dear friends across the country.

Türkiye, which achieved 54 million dollars of cat and dog food exports in 2021, boosted its cat and dog food exports to 88.5 million dollars in 2022 with an increase of 64 percent. While the number of countries to which Türkiye exports cat-dog food to reach 89 in 2022, it is expected that cat-dog food exports will exceed 100 million dollars in 2023.

Aegean Region is at the top in the production and export of cat-dog food. Muhammet Öztürk, Chair of the Aegean Cereals, Pulses, Oilseeds and Products Exporters’ Association, stated that they achieved 61 percent of the country’s cat-dog food exports with 54 million dollars in 2022.

Pointing out that the desire to live with pets has been a rising trend in the world in recent years, Aegean Cereals, Pulses, Oilseeds and Products Exporters’ Association Chair Muhammet Öztürk said, “Turkish pet food manufacturers, who read this development well, established new and modern production facilities and turned to export. They dominate the world’s need for cat-dog food. Our exports, which were 38 million dollars in the January-June period of 2022, soared by 53 percent to 58 million dollars in the first half of 2023. Exporters who are members of our Aegean Cereals, Pulses, Oilseeds and Products Exporters’ Association carried out 35 million dollars of this export. By the end of 2023, we aim to exceed 100 million dollars in cat-dog food exports.”

The country to which Türkiye exports cat-dog food the most was Malaysia with 14 million 245 thousand dollars, while Israel ranked second with 7 million 900 thousand dollars of cat-dog food demand and Iraq took the third place with 7.5 million dollars. These countries were followed by the USA with 6.5 million dollars and Greece with 3.5 million dollars…
