Noting that in 2023, the members of the Aegean Grains, Pulses, Oil Seeds and Products Exporters’ Association showed a more successful performance in the export of confectionery products and chocolate confectionery products, in his written statement, Chairman Muhammet Öztürk said, “Our exports of confectionery products and chocolate confectionery products rose from 49 million to 84 million dollars. The rate of hike of 12 percent across Türkiye reached 69 percent in the Aegean Region.”
Exports of chocolate confectionery products from the Aegean Grains, Pulses, Oil Seeds and Products Exporters’ Association increased from 41 million dollars in the January – November period of 2022 to 73 million dollars in the 11-month period of 2023. Exports of confectionery products also increased from 7.8 million dollars to 10.4 million dollars.
Most exports of chocolate confectionery products were to Iraq, the USA and Iran…
Pointing out that Iraq ranked first in the country’s chocolate confectionery products exports with a demand of 136 million dollars, Öztürk added, “Iraq was followed by the United States of America with 59 million dollars of exports and Iran with 52 million dollars. Exports of chocolate confectionery products to Saudi Arabia increased by 377 percent from 9 million to 43.6 million dollars. The number of countries to which Türkiye exports chocolate confectionery was 184.”
“On the other hand, while the United States was the first country in the export of confectionery products with a performance of 195 million dollars, Türkiye exported 96 million dollars of confectionery products to the United Kingdom and 71 million dollars of confectionery products to Iraq,” Öztürk concluded…
