“As Aegean Exporters’ Associations (EIB), we realised our first TURQUALITY Project for Japan, South Korea and China in the past period with the gathering of 5 food associations. Our food exports to Japan, which were 148 million dollars when we started our TURQUALITY Project, reached 291 million dollars at the end of 6 years. We achieved 170 per cent development in the Chinese market,” he noted.

In 2012, our export to the USA was 71 million dollars, while in 2022 it reached 126 million dollars. The main products of our sector are raisins, dried figs and dried apricots and our country is the world leader in the production and export of these products, “he added.

“The USA ranks first in our dried fig and dried apricot exports.
