“MEDITERRANEAN EXPORTERS QUADRUPLE THE AVERAGE GROWTH RATE OF TURKEY’S EXPORTS”

Mediterranean Exporters’ Associations (AKİB), in July, reached an export value of 1.17 billion dollars with an increase of 41.2 percent compared to the same period of the previous year and performed more than 4 times the country average. AKİB, which supported general exports by 7.8 percent in July, became the Association that heightened its foreign sales volume the most among 13 exporter associations across Turkey.

AKİB Coordinator Chair Nejdat Sin said, “We achieved the strongest export increases in the chemicals, fisheries and animal products and ferrous and non-ferrous metals sectors in July. We achieved record export rises in Malta, Lebanon, Greece, Belgium and Spain.”

Stating that the main export markets of AKİB mainly consist of the European Union, the Middle East, the Commonwealth of Independent States and African countries, Nejdat Sin added, “The restructuring in global supply chains and the prominent trends of nearby supplying also offer important opportunities for the Eastern Mediterranean Region, which has strong production centres.”
