MANİSA PROVINCE SUPPLIES 85 PERCENT OF RAISINS AND 20 PERCENT OF TABLE GRAPES…

Aegean grape producers and exporters came together in Manisa where 20 percent of table grapes and 85 percent of raisins supplied.

Minister of Agriculture and Forestry Bekir Pakdemirli attended the opening ceremony of the 2020-2021 season of Manisa Commodity Exchange’s “Manisa Sultani Seedless Grape” via teleconference from Giresun, where the flood disaster was experienced.

Birol Celep, Chairman of the Aegean Dry Fruits and Products Exporters’ Association and Hayrettin Uçak, Chairman of the Aegean Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Exporters’ Association, also attended the ceremony.

Minister Pakdemirli announced that Turkish Grain Board’s (TMO) 2020 raisin purchase price was 12.5 lira per kilogram for number 9. While at least 50 thousand tons of product is expected to be purchased, the 2020-2021 raisin harvest is estimated to be 271 thousand tons. Purchases will be starting from September 7th.
