The General Directorate of Forestry, which carries out activities for the dissemination of linden cultivation, contributes approximately 6 million TL to forest villagers and 35 million TL to the national economy with linden. Linden, whose kg price reaches almost 500 TL, is exported to 60 countries ranging from Kosovo to America.
By the end of 2021, 441 tonnes of linden, which provided approximately 2 million dollars of foreign currency inflow last year, was cultivated in 24 thousand hectares of land in Turkiye’s forests. Linden, which is one of the indispensable drinks of the winter season, is good for colds and coughs thanks to substances such as manganese, essential oil, saponin, tannin, vitamin C, and sterol.
