Izmir and Samsun provinces decided to join forces in fresh fruit and vegetable and fruit and vegetable products sectors…
Izmir, one of the leading cities in Türkiye’s fresh fruit and vegetable and fruit and vegetable products exports, will share and coach its experiences in the production and export of fresh fruit and vegetable and fruit and vegetable products with Black Sea province of Samsun.
While the fresh fruit and vegetable and fruit and vegetable products sectors brought 6 billion dollars of foreign currency to Türkiye in the last 1-year period, Aegean exporters contributed 1 billion 350 million dollars to this export. Exporters from İzmir will endeavour to ensure that Samsun, which exports 339 million dollars of plant products annually, can export 1 billion dollars in the short term.
Stating that the Aegean Region has centuries of production and export experience in the fruit and vegetable sector, Hayrettin Uçak, Deputy Coordinator Chairman of the Aegean Exporters‘ Associations and Chair of the Aegean Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Exporters’ Association, said that as a result of this experience, they aim to reach an export figure of 1.5 billion dollars by the end of 2024 and that İzmir dominates this export…
