Pınar Milk (Süt) Chairwoman İdil Yiğitbaşı emphasized the importance of sustainable agriculture and food on World Food Day.
İdil Yiğitbaşı, Chairwoman of the Board of Pınar Süt, drew attention to the importance of sustainability and production on October 16 World Food Day, which is celebrated with the 75th anniversary of the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO).
Indicating that Turkey is the world’s eighth and the third largest milk producer in Europe, Yiğitbaşı said, “In order to make the sustainable success of our country in the food sector across Turkey, we are leading Turkish food industry in terms of quality, production and supporting producers.”

İdil Yiğitbaşı noted, “The pandemic reminded all of us the value of agro-food systems and the importance of our farmers who feed our world. To grow together and make it sustainable in agriculture, these are the most valuable steps to be taken for the future.”
Underlining that women constitute the important source of the agricultural workforce in many developing countries, Yiğitbaşı added, “The role our women farmers undertake in sustainable agriculture and safe food production is very precious, I congratulate all women who have devoted themselves to this. I congratulate the 15 October International Women Farmers’ Day.”
