Türkiye exported 255 billion 800 million dollars in 2023, while Germany made an import of 21 billion 79 million dollars. Germany was represented with a share of 8.3 percent in Türkiye’s exports. After Germany, the country Türkiye exported the most was the United States of America with 14.8 billion dollars and the United Kingdom with 12.4 billion dollars.
Hayrettin Uçak, Chair of the Aegean Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Exporters’ Association (EYMSİB), reported that they ramped up the exports to Germany from 192 million dollars to 221 million dollars with an increase of 15 percent in 2023.
“While our fresh fruit and vegetable exports surged by 55 percent from 32 million dollars to 50 million dollars, our exports of fruit and vegetable products surged from 160 million dollars to 170 million dollars with a 7 percent development,” he said.
Pointing out that they are the leading sector among the food sectors exporting to Germany from the Aegean Region, he added, “In order to maintain this position, we will continue to produce and export with our projects that prioritise food safety. We will also continue our marketing efforts to strengthen our position in markets with high purchasing power such as Germany in order to turn the 60 million tonnes of fruit and vegetables produced by Türkiye into added value.”
