Global dried fruit industry leaders come together in Canada…

Industry leaders in the dried fruit industry from more than 60 countries gathered in Canada…

The International Nut and Dried Fruit Council (INC), the highest consultation platform for dried fruits and nuts worldwide, was held for the 41st time this year on 8-10 May in Vancouver, Canada.

Among the countries participating in the congress, Türkiye was the country with the highest number of participants with 81 representatives after the USA.

Following the opening ceremony held with the participation of INC’s Board of Trustees, including Osman Öz, Chairman of the Dried Fruit Sector Board, more than 70 expert speakers discussed sustainability, yield forecasts, supply and demand and the transformative impact of artificial intelligence for three days.

Ahmet Bilge Göksan, Ambassador of the International Council of Dried and Shelled Fruits (INC) to Türkiye, stated that INC is a very important platform, that Aegean Exporters’ Associations (EIB) have been participating in INC for years and that the members were informed about the activities of INC.

Mehmet Ali Işık, Chairman of the Aegean Dried Fruits and Products Exporters’ Association, said that they export to 162 different countries worldwide and the results of their successful market strategy in the international arena are reflected in the exports.

“Representation and participation of our country, which is an important actor in the dried fruits and hazelnut sectors with its leading producer and exporter identity in the world, in such international platforms strengthens our sector,” Işık noted.

In the session on seedless raisins held on the second day of the Congress, Şemsettin Özgür, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors, made evaluations on raisin production and trade in our country and the world.

Lastly the session on dried figs, dried apricots and dates was chaired by Guillaume Pagy, a member of the Association, while Osman Göksan shared his evaluations on the production and trade of dried figs and dried apricots in Türkiye and in the world…
