Geographical indication practise is increasing in Akhisar district of Manisa province…

Geographical indication of Akhisar Uslu and Domat olive varieties become widespread.

Akhisar Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ATSO) Chairman Mehmet Ali Erdayıoğlu called on the manufacturers to use the logos and emblems of the products with geographical indications.

ATSO Chairman Mehmet Ali Erdayıoğlu and Head of Konurca Agricultural Development Cooperative Hayrullah Bilen has signed a “usage agreement”.

Touching on the importance of geographical indication, Erdayıoğlu said, “Geographical indication provides discrimination for the product, specifying geographical resources, guaranteeing the production method and quality, which is also a very good marketing tool.”

Erdayıoğlu also pointed out that the use of geographically marked products is becoming more and more widespread, Erdayıoğlu added, “At the same time, it struggles with imitation of products, contributes to tourism by providing the promotion of the region. Considering all these functions, we aim to increase the usage.”

Konurca Agricultural Development Cooperative Chairman Hayrullah Bilen also thanked Erdayıoğlu for his efforts.
