FRESH FRUIT AND VEGETABLE EXPORTS OF TÜRKİYE IN APRIL 211.5 MILLION DOLLARS…

Ferhat Gürüz, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Mediterranean Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Exporters Association, announced that Türkiye exported 211 million 494 thousand dollars of fresh fruit and vegetables in April. Stating that in the fourth month of the year, the Turkish fresh fruit and vegetable sector achieved 9-fold increases in export volume in Kuwait, Georgia and Iraq markets, Ferhat Gürüz also emphasised that the Canadian market showed a remarkable development in citrus exports.

“As an association, we supported sector exports by 43 percent”

Pointing out that the strategic importance of the fresh fruit and vegetable sector, which provides net foreign currency inflow to the national economy and creates employment for millions of people in the process from harvesting to packaging, from transportation to export, Gürüz said, “We continue to work diligently in international markets in order to further strengthen the perception of ‘Quality Turkish Goods’ and ramp up market diversity. In the meantime, Ferhat Gürüz stressed that the Mediterranean Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Exporters’ Association, which is the leader of the Turkish fresh fruit and vegetable sector, exported 90 million 577 thousand dollars in April and supported the country-wide exports by 43 percent.

We exported the most tomatoes, peppers and lemons…

Indicating that the sector in Türkiye evaluated 279 thousand 88 tonnes of products in international markets in April, Ferhat Gürüz reported that they exported the most tomatoes, peppers and lemons.

“In the list of the products we exported the most in April, tomatoes ranked first with a value of 52 million 242 thousand dollars, pepper ranked second with a value of 31 million 783 thousand dollars and lemon ranked third with a value of 26 million 62 thousand dollars,” Gürüz added.

“The products that we achieved the strongest hikes in export volume in the said period were apricots, peaches and pomegranates. We reached a value of 2 million 762 thousand dollars with a spike of 899 percent in apricot, 12 million 107 thousand dollars with a spike of 353 percent in peach and 2 million 570 thousand dollars with a spike of 121 percent in pomegranate,” Gürüz concluded…
